Rio Verde Waterfalls Natural Reserve

  • The Cascadas de Río Verde Natural Reserve is a private reserve in the mountains of the department of Quindío, where you can immerse yourself in crystalline waterfalls, walk trails through primary forests with giant trees and learn about the culture of the Pijao indigenous people in an emotional cultural history of Don Julio, the owner of the reserve who has dedicated his life to preserving this beautiful place.

  • 🚐 Meeting and Departure 6:00 a.m.

    Our trip begins in Salento or Armenia , the tour leader and driver will pick you up at 6 a.m. in a private vehicle that will take us to Córdoba, a small town in the department of Quindío, in a journey of approximately 1 hour.



    🚐 Arrival in Córdoba and departure to the reserve by Jeep

    Upon arriving in Córdoba we will take a Jeep in the main square of the town, which is the vehicle par excellence to transport ourselves in the countryside in our region given the topographic characteristics.



    🚶‍♂️ Start of the Hike to the Farm

    When we get off the Jeep we will meet Don Julio, the owner of the reserve and who will be our local guide, a great human being with 80 years full of stories and anecdotes from his life, who will guide us to the farm of his reserve and tell us with details of the violence that their people suffered and how they have been able to escape it over time.



      🍳Arrival at the farm and breakfast

    Upon arriving at the farm we will recharge our batteries with a delicious peasant breakfast, prepared with food produced in the same reserve and neighbors from other surrounding farms.



    🤩 Start of the Hike to visit the waterfalls

    After breakfast, we will walk through the internal trails of the reserve, which have incredible attractions, such as giant trees, crystal clear waters and several waterfalls, in one of which we can take a delicious bath.



      🥗 Lunch and rest

    After enjoying the great attractions of this tour, we will return to the farm to have a delicious vegetarian lunch, rest and enjoy the view of the farm.



    🚐 Return to take the Jeep

    After finishing our enjoyment of the farm facilities, we will walk again to the beginning of the tour where we will take the jeep that will take us back to the town of Córdoba.



    🚐 Return to the meeting point

    At the end of our Jeep tour that will take us to the main square of the town of Córdoba we will have the final reflections of our tour and thanks from the tour leader, where our comfortable vehicle will be waiting for us that will take us back to our meeting point.
