The Otún lagoon is one of the most beautiful lagoons in Colombia. It is located at 4,000 meters above sea level, has a spectacular turquoise color of glacial origin and offers beautiful views of the Central mountain range.

🚐 Meeting and departure
Our trip begins in the city of Pereira or Manizales, we will pick you up at 6 a.m. in a private 4x4 vehicle that will take us on an unpaved road where you can appreciate the different thermal floors, it is a journey of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes.
🍳 Breakfast
You will recharge your energy with a delicious country breakfast in a local restaurant with a great view of the mountain.
🚶♂️ Entrance to the park and start of the hike to Laguna del Otún
After paying the entrance fee to the Park and receiving the recommendations of the park ranger, we will begin to walk the mountain where you can appreciate the characteristic flora and fauna of the moor and incredible views, with technical stops to hydrate and acclimatize while the guide will surprise you with his environmental interpretation of this particular ecosystem.
⛰️ Arrival at the overlook 4,100 meters above sea level
Upon reaching the overlook you will be able to see the Laguna del Otún and if there is good visibility you will be able to appreciate the Nevado Santa Isabel and the Paramillo del Quindio, we will have enough time to take photos and catch our breath to get ready to return to the starting point.
🥗 Lunch
After enjoying the great attractions of this tour, we will return to the same restaurant to have a delicious lunch.
🚐 Return to the meeting point
At the end of your lunch, we will have the final reflections of the tour and thanks from the guide, where our comfortable vehicle will be waiting to take us back to our meeting point.
Booking and prepayment: To book this adventure you just have to choose the desired date and book with 50% of the total, the other 50% is usually paid one day before the start of the trek at the briefing. For the first and last payment, we accept cash, credit and debit cards.
What physical condition do I need to be in?: To do this trek, you need to be in very good physical condition. If you want to get the most out of your trip, you should be able to walk distances of 16 km over several consecutive days. Much of the trek will be done at high altitude, so it is recommended to spend a few nights before the trek at altitudes above 2000 meters above sea level, especially if you live at sea level.
Briefing: All briefings are done one day before the trip at your hotel, if it is a private tour or virtually if it is a group trek. Meetings last approximately 30 to 45 minutes and we check that you have everything you need, we will answer your questions about the trekking and you can additionally pay the remaining 50%.
Pick-up: All pick-ups are made within the city of Pereira or Manizales, but we recommend that you book a hotel as central as possible and with a good location. If you are staying in an area far from the city center, you will have to pay an additional fee for the pick-up. Our staff will confirm the pick-up time one day before the tour.
Group tours: Group tours are made up of different people with different physical conditions and ages. By agreeing to be part of a group tour, you acknowledge that some people may be faster or slower than you.
In some cases, the group may wish to modify the tour; however, it is the guide's responsibility to decide, after consulting with all participants, if such changes are possible.
Where can I store my main luggage?: During the trip, you will be able to store your main luggage for free in our storage room. You can also safely store any equipment you do not need for the tour at your hotel. Almost all hotels offer this service.
